In Balboa Park befinden sich viele bekannte Museen, wie zum Beispiel das „San Diego Museum of Art“, das „San Diego Natural History Museum“, das „San Diego Museum of Man“ und natürlich auch das „San Diego Museum of Photographic Arts“. Das „Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego“ (MCASD) findet man in einem Gebäude, das in La Jolla direkt am Meer liegt. Eine Außenstelle dieses Museums befindet sich im Santa Fe Depot, das im Stadtzentrum liegt. Der Bezirk Colombia ist ebenfalls im Stadtinneren gelegen, hier kann man sowohl historische Schiffs-Exponate besichtigen, als auch das „San Diego 
Aircraft Carrier Museum“ besuchen in dem sich der USS Midway Flugzeugträger befindet.
Die Kunstszene in San Diego wächst stetig. „Kettler Nights“ nennt man ausgewählte Freitage, an denen man bei Nacht Ausstellungen in vielen Designershops besuchen kann. All diese Einzelhandelsgeschäfte befinden sich in Little Italy, das im so genannten „Art and Design“ Bezirk liegt. An jedem zweiten Samstag im Monat findet „Ray at Night“ statt, hier haben Sie die Möglichkeit eine Vielzahl an kleinen Kunstgalerien zu besuchen, die alle in der Region North Park liegen.
Die „San Diego Symphony at Symphony Towers“ werden von Jahja Ling dirigiert und treten regelmäßig auf. Die Oper am Civic Center Plaza wurde durch Opera America zu einer der zehn besten Operngesellschaften der Vereinigten Staaten gewählt. Das Globe Theatre in Bilboa Park produziert jährlich ungefähr 15 Theaterstücke und Musicals.
Der Tourismus wurde durch die Kultur der Stadt beeinflusst, da es in San Diego viele Attraktionen für Touristen gibt. Unter anderem findet man hier das „Sea World San Diego“, den „Belmont Amusement Park“, den Zoo von San Diego, den „Wild Animal Park“ und außerdem kann man in der Nähe das bekannte Legoland besuchen. In vielen Kulturhistorischen Sehenswürdigkeiten, die sich weit verteilt über die Stadt befinden, kann man den Einfluss Spaniens sehen. Wie die „Spanish mission“ und den „Bilboa Park“. Die Küche in San Diego ist breitgefächert und es gibt eine große Menge an im Holzofen gebackenen Pizzas, die im „Califonia-Style“ zubereitet werden, außerdem kann man hier auch viele Mexikanische und Ost-Asiatische Speisen genießen. Jährlich finden in San Diego Events, wie der „Comic-Con“, der „San Diego/Del Mar Fair“ und das „Street Scene Music Festival“ statt.
San Diego ist schon immer ein Tummelplatz für Surfer und Skateboarder gewesen. Einige der größten Namen der Industrie haben hier ihre Hauptsitze, unter anderem „Sector 9 Skateboards“, „Trans World Media“ und „Rusty Surfboards“. Einige sehr bekannte Plätze zum Surfen sind Swamis beach und Windandsea. In der Region gibt es außerdem eine eigene Ladenkette von Surf-Shops, „Sun Diego“. Profisurfer Rob Machado und Taylor Knox, Profiskateboarder Tony Hawk und Profisnowboarder Shaun White bezeichnen das Gebiet San Diego als ihr Zuhause.
Las Vegas
Las Vegas is the city of bright lights, wedding chapels and casinos. Known to be one of the most entertaining cities in the world there is a lot more to be experienced in Las Vegas than just gambling.
The major attractions are often the casinos and Las Vegas obviously does not disappoint. The most famous of these hotels and casinos are found on The Strip spreading out towards the Downtown areas and Fremont Street. Surprisingly to most people Las Vegas has 85 parks, 10 of which are dog parks and 9 are skate parks. There is also a a Wetlands Park and a Preservation and Educational Park.
Wildlife feature in Las Vegas with a Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and a Zoo also within the city centre, there are also three Gardens; Ethel M's Botanical Gardens, Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens and The Gardens at the Las Vegas Spring Preserve.
Las Vegas is also home to a philharmonic orchestra and a ballet troupe alongside its live theatrical shows, dance acts and magicians. The growing population of the city has opened the door to new cultural and musical events. Springtime events such as jazz festivals and folkdance festivals regularly take place within the city throughout April and May and on the first Friday of every month there is a 'First Friday' celebration which exhibits local artists and musicians pieces in the 'Arts District' region of Downtown.
With nineteen musuems and seven libraries their is also something for those chasing the intellectual pursuits in life and if sport is what you are interested in then you have the options of boating, golf, hiking and rock climbing in the national parks nearby. Las Vegas itself has around 60 golf courses.
Five star hotels such as the Venetian and the Bellagio offer many cultural events right on The Strip including high class acrobatic acts and art museums. In Las Vegas there is definately something for everyone.
