This beach is off the beaten track but it is without a doubt worth making the effort to see. Due to the treacherous unpaved roads surrounding the beach, you will need a four-wheel drive for access. However, it makes for an excellent hiking expedition.
If you are able to access this beach, you will realise its wonderful location. You will experience miles of untouched scenic sand surrounding you providing an excellent alternative to the more crowded beaches to be found on the island.
Lara Bay is famous for its conservation society in the area. Here you will see many beautiful variants of fauna and flora. However, the most famous residents are the Green Turtle and Loggerhead Turtle. Part of the beach is protected just for this very reason and you can volunteer to help with the Lara Beach Turtle Station whilst you are visiting and see these protected specimens for yourselves.
There is also a fabulous open air restaurant adjacent to the beach which is well worth a visit for lunch.
This beach provides a superb opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life allowing you to be at one with nature.
