La Finca Algorfa Golf Club has the newest course in Alicante and is an emerald jewel of great beauty with some spectacular views as it sits in the shadow of the la Escotera mountains with vistas towards the sea and the two salt lakes of Torrevieja.
Designed by José Ganceda, La Finca golf course has many features and currently has 18 holes, although it will end up being a 54 hole complex made up of 3 different golf courses; the present length is 6,394 metres with a 72 par. La Finca golf course has the greatest variety of greens of any course on the Costa Blanca, ranging in size from very large to very small. In addition, the course has a reserve hole so that, in the event one of the holes has to be closed off unexpectedly, players are still able to complete a full 18-hole round.
The course also has several lakes with running water and reed beds along the course which adds beauty and difficulty to the game and is also home to a wide variety of migratory water birds, such as ducks and egrets. The interior of the course is home to olive and palm trees, thus creating a beautiful backdrop of vegetation with a distinctly Mediterranean flavour.
