Gumusluk

Gumusluk (pronounced Goo-moosh-look) is set on the opposite side of the Bodrum peninsula amidst a vast amount of tangerine groves. Gumusluk is approximately 20 minutes away by car or local minibus from the centre of Bodrum. This village is still a lively fishing port and offering a large selection of fish restaurants along the sea front displaying a wide variety of freshly caught seafood.

This area was once the home of the ancient city of Myndos and due to this is now deemed a conservation area where cars are not permitted to enter the centre of the village. The far westerly point here is renowned for its stunning sunsets and scenery and from here there is a tiny sheltered island called Tavsan, translated as "Rabbit Island". From here it is possible to walk to Gumusluk, when the tide is out, via the small causeway of stones which were built in the Hellenistic times,
