Gundogan

Gundogan is one of Bodrum's Peninsula’s hidden treasures and is a sleepy town just north of the centre of Bodrum. Although it is close to the hustle and bustle of this larger town, Gundogan has managed to retain all of its charm and tradition. On the coast, you can enjoy sailing and windsurfing and the evenings can be spent in one of the many restaurants or bars overlooking the beautiful coastline.

This area of Turkey is extremely popular  for diving. You will often see the sponge diving courses taking place in the shallow waters as well as underwater photography lessons. Gundogan is steeped in history and rightly claims to have been one of the earliest human settlements on the peninsula. Architects have found Bronze Age ceramics, stone axes and milling stones in nearby caves and lagoons. The caves are now open to the public and are a spectacle not to be missed with the beautiful stalagmites and stalactites on show.
