Yalikavak is a very sophisticated area that is home to many celebrities throughout Turkey especially in the summer months. It is home to a thriving fishing industry and is one of the most important fishing centres on the Turkish Aegean, and is home to many sponge divers too.
There is a picturesque harbour here where there are many restaurants in which to enjoy a drink and fine cuisine whilst you watch the sun go down. There are many shopping boutiques for you to browse in this traffic-free zone and once a week there is a large market in the square with local produce on display. The small beach and waterside café are always popular in the hot climate and provide an ideal place for an hour or two of relaxation. Yalikavak has a great mix of both traditional and modern areas with tranquillity throughout.
