Larnaca

According to legend, Larnaca was first inhabited by Noah’s grandson Khittim during the 13th century. The international airport is a short drive from the centre and today the coastal city attracts thousands of tourists throughout the year to the ancient archaeological sites as well as the sandy shores. The beaches are lined with cafes, restaurants and a beautifully built large marina.

The most magnificent sight in Larnaca is the Church of St. Lazarus which was built over Lazarus’ tomb who remains the Patron Saint of the city. Larnaca is a prefect location from which to explore the rest of the country going east to the ghost-town of Famagusta to Limassol and Paphos on the west.
