The law in Turkey states that if you are wishing to drive there, all drivers must stick to the right hand side of the road and that the right of way always belongs to drivers coming from the right. Driving here can be erratic so you must have your wits about you all the time as the Highway Code is not always adhered to! The speed limit here is 90km/h on the highways and 50km/h in all towns.
If you intend to rent a car in Turkey be sure to take your full driving licence from your country of origin otherwise you will be refused access to a car. Provided you have your full driving licence there shouldn’t be any need to obtain an international driving permit although if you wish to do this you can apply at the countries automobile club.
