In the Greek Islands banks are able to offer mortgages of up to 75% of the purchase price of the property. Mortgages are available at a starting rate of 3.5%, this can be fixed for the first three years. The term for a mortgage can be between 5 years and 40 years, the mortgage can be taken up to your 75th birthday. Mortgage set up cost are approx 2.2% of property price and there is no early redemption fees for variable rate mortgages. Variable mortgage rates are approximately 5.46%.
