This beach is off the beaten track but it is without a doubt worth making the effort to see. It is very difficult to reach by standard car due to the treacherous unpaved roads around this beach but can be got to by 4 wheel drives or it makes an excellent hiking opportunity.
Once you reach here you will soon realise how wonderful an area it is. There are miles of untouched scenic sand all around you and provides an excellent alternative to the more crowded beaches to be found on the island.
Lara Bay is famous for its conservation society in the area. Here you will see many beautiful variants of fauna and flora. However, the most famous residents are the Green Turtle and Loggerhead Turtle. Part of the beach is protected just for this very reason and you can volunteer to help with the Lara Beach Turtle Station whilst you are visiting and see these protected specimens for yourselves.
There is also a fabulous open air restaurant adjacent to the beach and this certainly is well worth having lunch at.
This beach provides a superb opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and be at one with nature.
